From Passion to Profit, Making your Finances Easy

At Accounts & Tax Made Easy, we’re here to take the stress out of business finances. We believe running a business should feel exciting, not chaotic, and with the right support behind you, can make all the difference.

We work with ambitious business owners across the UK, from trades and creatives to growing companies ready to take things to the next level.

Whether you're drowning in receipts, stuck with the wrong systems, or just need someone to make sense of the numbers - we’ve got you.

Why do we do this? Because we love seeing businesses grow. There’s nothing better than watching a client go from stressed and stuck to confident and in control. With the right systems, advice, and support in place, everything runs smoother - and life gets a whole lot easier.

We’re not just about accounts and tax. We’re about giving you time back, getting your finances in order, and helping you build a business that works for you.

Hi, I’m Nicola J Barnett, the Founder of Accounts and Tax Made Easy!

Believe it or not, I once thought I’d be a mechanic (still wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a project car one day!). But it turns out, I’m much better at fine-tuning businesses than engines.

I kicked off my AAT studies at 18 and genuinely loved it! Seventeen exams, two shiny qualifications (AAT and ACCA), and a few jobs later, I realised the corporate world just wasn’t my thing. I wasn’t built for endless meetings and climbing someone else’s ladder, I’d rather help real business owners make sense of their numbers, get their cash flowing, and grow their business without stress.

In April 2023, after being made redundant from a brutal 15-hour-a-day job, I finally backed myself and launched Accounts & Tax Made Easy — a business built on supporting startups, trades, and growing companies with practical, no-fuss financial support.

Now I work how I want, with people I genuinely enjoy helping — and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

On a bit more of a personal note…..

I live in Hertfordshire with my husband Dean, our son Stanley, and our nutty dog Ozzie. When I’m not sorting businesses out, you’ll find me wandering on dog walks, dancing to 80s tunes in the kitchen, losing hours to a good jigsaw, or messing about with watercolours.

But my absolute favourite? A sunny pub lunch with the family — refreshing drink in hand, phone nowhere in sight.
